I hope everyone that went out to celebrate had a fun and safe night. I volunteered for the Miracles of Mitch Foundation's New Years Eve Party and had a great time for a great cause. On the way home I ended up driving my car off the road which was not exactly a great time, but I am so thankful that I think the worst of it is just needing to get my wheels realigned.
Sorry for being MIA the last couple of weeks. Life really stacked up and I just had to much on my plate to deal with.
However, I'm really excited for the new year and some new goals, because I really dropped the ball big time at the end of December. Shopped, shopped, shopped til I dropped. Well, maybe it wasn't quite that bad... err maybe it was. I managed to make 24 Christmas gifts, broke down and bought for 7 people and contemplating buying the 2 still remaining. I may or may not have bought a plane ticket... and I may or may not have bought a new dress for 50% off... *sigh* total finance crash and burn. Does it help if I tried to find a dress at a thrift store and a consignment store before heading to the mall???
My Finance Goals for 2012
Pay off loan #1 ASAP. Balance is $1234.90
Pay off 25% of loan #2 principle (17,805) About $4,500
Put $200 a month into my savings account
I know that is such a small dent compared to the overall balance, but with my continually rising minimum payments along with my goals I will be paying over $17,000 to my student loan companies next year. YIKES! Since the payments have absolutely sky rocketed, I should see the balance start to move a tiny bit on my other loans too.
My Personal Goals for 2012
Monthly goals, because I never seem to remember my yearly ones :)
Continue my frugal ways
Blog at least twice a week
Write every day
Go to the library!
get my USPTO certification
Take more time for myself (Sewing, knitting, reading, *choke* cleaning...)
Thank you to everyone who has stopped by my blog, left me a comment or showed me support. Having this network of online friends has really made this journey a whole lot more bearable. Cheers to a great 2012! I look forward to supporting, encouraging and learning from all of you as we all make our way through the new year.
